Perranporth beach dog rules return for July and August

Heading to Perranporth with the dog this summer? There is a rule you will want to check before you go.

Perranzabuloe Parish Council has issued a reminder that dog control restrictions are back on the beach for July and August. The rules apply during the busiest part of the day, and the Beach Wardens are already out.

When the restrictions apply

Dogs must be kept on short leads between 10am and 5pm through July and August. Outside those hours the restriction does not apply.

Where the rules apply

The restrictions cover a designated area of the beach set out under a Dog Control Order (DCO). The parish council has published a map showing exactly where the DCO applies, so it is worth a look before you head down.

What dog owners need to do

Two things. Keep your dog on a short lead within the designated area during the restricted hours, and pick up after your dog. Dog fouling is not allowed anywhere on the beach.

Beach Wardens are back on duty

The parish council’s Beach Wardens are now on the beach for the season. They are happy to offer advice and answer any questions.
