Cornwall FA’s Youth Leadership Team is recruiting for 2026/27

A stadium concourse, a set of hi-vis vests, an awards ceremony under the trees at an historic venue, a trip to represent Cornwall at a national FA event. That is not a bad spread of experience for a year that started with a group of teenagers and twenty-somethings simply saying yes to a football volunteering scheme. Now Cornwall FA wants to know who is saying yes for 2026/27.

Matchday duties and county-wide events

Across the 2025/26 season, the Youth Leadership Team was involved in developing its own ideas and running its own events, as well as supporting Cornwall FA with activities and events across the county. Members also worked alongside leagues at their end-of-season events, putting them in the middle of the matchday action rather than on the sidelines of it.

A seat at the awards, and a national stage

The role went beyond the county boundary too. Team members had the chance to attend the Cornwall FA Grassroots Football Awards, and some went on to represent Cornwall at a national FA event, taking the experience they had built at home and putting it in front of a much wider audience.

Cornwall FA is clear that the Youth Leadership Team is not simply a committee that talks shop. It is pitched as a chance to get hands-on experience, meet new people, develop skills, build a network, and have an actual voice in the future of football in Cornwall, from grassroots pitches up to the national game.

How to apply for 2026/27

Cornwall FA is now looking for its next intake. Anyone aged 16 to 24 who wants to see where the opportunity could take them is being encouraged to get in touch. Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday 26 August, and the full detail, including the application pack, is available through Cornwall FA’s website.
