Fowey scout Izzy’s mystery trails could take her to Poland

A young scout from Fowey has earned a place representing Cornwall and the UK at the next world scout Jamboree. Getting there means finding £3,500 first. Her answer runs through the streets of Fowey, and it starts with a stolen ticket.

Cornwall and the UK, heading to Poland

Isabelle has been selected to represent Cornwall and the UK at the next world scout Jamboree, held in Poland in 2027. Before she can go she needs to raise £3,500.

To help cover the cost, Izzy has put together two walking trails around Fowey. They are built for children, though adults are welcome to have a go too. Each trail costs £3, or you can pick up both for £5.

Two trails, two mysteries

Both start at Fowey Town Quay. Each one hands you a list of suspects and a route to follow, with clues to spot along the way. Cross the names off the back as you rule them out.

The stolen ticket

The first trail runs from Fowey Town Quay to Caffamill. Someone has taken Izzy’s ticket, and it is your job to work out who. Follow the guided route, look for the clues, and narrow the list down until one suspect is left standing.

The search for Ottie

The second trail goes from Fowey Town Quay to Readymoney beach. This time the crime is a kidnapping. Ottie, the UK’s mascot, has been taken, and the same clue-hunting rules apply as you make your way down towards the sand.

Getting hold of a trail

Each trail is £3, or two for £5. The guide books are sold at the Fowey aquarium on the town quay. Anyone who wants to give a bit more can also donate online through the QR code on Izzy’s poster.

Every purchase, whether it is one trail or both, goes towards the £3,500 she needs to raise for the 2027 trip.
