Camel Viaduct update: storms slow Wadebridge bridge deck work

The Camel Viaduct is being rebuilt from the top down, one layer at a time. And the weather hasn’t made it easy.

Cormac has shared a progress report on phase two of the work above Wadebridge, passed on by Wadebridge Town Council, and there’s still a bit to go before the deck is finished.

Storms have slowed things down

Cormac says the application of a new waterproofing system across the bridge deck is well underway.

Progress has been hampered somewhat by the recent storms and weather conditions, though.

One layer down, two to go

The first layer of the waterproofing is now complete.

Two more layers are still to be applied. The last of them will be red.

What happens after the waterproofing

Cormac has asked for the update to be shared as widely as possible, so people in and around Wadebridge know where things stand.

Once the final layer is down, the next job is the installation of new drainage channels.
