Cornwall weather: Monday 2 November, dry, bright and breezy spell
High pressure has settled in over the South West, and for the most part that is good news if you like your November dry. The catch is the wind, which freshens along the coast as the week goes on, and a cold, clear night that could leave a few surprises on the roads first thing. Here is how the week’s weather across Cornwall looks, from the Met Office regional forecast covering the county.

Today
A bright start for most, with plenty of sunny spells to go round. Cloud builds in from the northeast through the afternoon, though the sunshine does not disappear entirely. It turns breezier along the southern coasts as the day goes on, and it feels cooler than yesterday. The top temperature reaches around 13°C.
Tonight
Clear spells let the temperature fall away overnight, down to a chilly 4°C. With that clear, settled air comes mist and fog, forming in the spots that are prone to it, so the first journeys of Tuesday could be slow going in places. It stays breezy along the southern coasts through the night.
Tuesday
Another bright start leads into a day of patchy cloud and long sunny spells. The wind is the thing to note, brisk from the northeast with stronger gusts along the coast. The high holds the temperature at around 13°C again, so a similar feel to Monday, just with more of an edge to the breeze.

Wednesday to Friday
The settled theme carries on, but with more variety in the sky. Expect variable cloud and sunny spells over the three days, with light showers where the cloud thickens up. The winds strengthen through Wednesday, and the stronger gusts stay focused on the southern coastlines. That takes in Bonfire Night on Thursday 5 November, so anyone out for a display is looking at a breezier evening with the odd light shower possible rather than a settled, still one.
With the high pressure still in charge the week stays broadly dry and bright, and the real question hanging over it is how much the wind digs in along the coast before the weekend.
