Thinking About Becoming a Police Officer? Cornwall Events Offer a Chance to Find Out
People across Cornwall are being invited to meet police officers face to face and learn what it takes to join Devon & Cornwall Police at a series of pop-up events taking place later this month.
The events are designed to give Cornwall residents the chance to speak directly with officers about careers in policing and ask questions about the application process.
A police engagement van will visit five locations across the county between 9am and 12pm, giving members of the public an opportunity to drop by and find out more.

Breaking Down Barriers to Policing Careers
The events are being led by PC John Holland.
John Holland said:
“Our events are open to everyone, with a focus on reaching people who may not have previously considered a career in emergency services.
“We also want this event to be an opportunity for us dispel any misconceptions and break down barriers to applying that individuals may be experiencing, particularly those from ethnic minority backgrounds, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals and women.
“There is a vast amount of information online about careers in policing, but we don’t underestimate the value of having a face-to-face conversation with someone.”
John added:
“Whether policing is the career for you or not, please come along to find out more. It’d be great to see you there.”
Part of a Wider Recruitment Effort
The events have been organised by Devon & Cornwall Police’s Positive Action team, with support from the Diverse Communities team and local neighbourhood policing teams.
They form part of an ongoing commitment to build a workforce that reflects the communities the force serves, while helping strengthen trust and ensure fairness and accessibility throughout the recruitment process.
Anyone interested in learning more about careers with the force can also find further information on the Careers within Devon & Cornwall Police page.
