“It’s brilliant to see Asda championing local brands and recognising the value that regional producers bring to shoppers, helping customers discover products that are made with passion, provenance and a real sense of place.”
Furniss of Cornwall is bringing eight products to Asda stores across Cornwall and Devon, including its Savoury Biscuits with West Country Cheddar. Teoni, Head of Sales and Marketing at the award-winning bakery, said: “We are delighted that more Asda customers across the South West will be able to enjoy our award-winning Cornish biscuits.
“Supporting local sourcing helps businesses like ours continue to invest in our bakery, our people and the local economy, and we are excited for customers to discover our latest range.”
Familiar Cornish names growing their range
It isn’t only new arrivals. Three long-standing local suppliers are also extending what they stock with Asda this summer: Cornish Sea Salt, Rattler Cornish Cider and Southwestern Distillery.
Devon producers Langage Farm and Sandford Orchard are joining the retailer this summer too, taking the total of new product lines from across the South West to 58.
