The Duke of Edinburgh Was in Truro Last Night. Here’s What He Got Up To
The Duke of Edinburgh paid a visit to Truro yesterday, Tuesday 21st April, attending a sold-out performance of Fawlty Towers at the Cornwall Playhouse as part of his role as Royal Patron of Hall for Cornwall.
A Royal Night at the Theatre
Prince Edward has been a supporter of Hall for Cornwall and the wider creative industries for more than a decade, championing the venue’s charitable mission as a cultural hub for audiences, artists and young people across the county.
His Royal Highness was at the Cornwall Playhouse to watch Fawlty Towers: The Play, a stage adaptation of John Cleese’s iconic sitcom, which has been pulling in audiences during its current UK tour. The performance was a sell-out.
Behind the Curtain
After the show, the Duke went on to view the stage and backstage areas, where he met members of the cast and crew to hear about the production’s national success and how it has been received by Cornish audiences.
Fawlty Towers: The Play continues its run at the Cornwall Playhouse until Saturday 25th April.
