Robin Karkeek Takes Over as Truro City FC CEO from Eric Perez
Truro City has appointed Robin Karkeek as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect, ending months of quiet groundwork by a figure who has been working inside the club since last summer.
The announcement was made by the club’s board of directors and ownership group, a consortium spanning Canada and the United States, who described the move as a landmark moment for Truro City as they push forward both on and off the pitch.

A familiar name in a new chair
Robin is not arriving cold. He has served as a consultant to Truro City since June 2025, and was the figure pulling the strings behind the ground improvements delivered roughly 12 months ago. That project expanded both covered seating and standing facilities at the stadium, and was completed in what the club describes as record time.
He brings more than 40 years of business experience across commercial, strategic and public-sector roles, a combination the club believes puts him in a strong position to broker the kinds of partnerships it now needs.
What the role actually involves
In his new position, Robin will take charge of the club’s wider business operations and work alongside director of football Alex Black on the football side. The stated focus is building a club that is financially strong, operationally sound and consistently competitive.
He will also lead the club’s strategic engagement with Cornwall Council and other partners on development work in and around Truro City Stadium.
The board’s stated vision, which Robin shares, goes beyond football. It includes shaping a facility and a club that serves the social, economic and cultural ambitions of Cornwall as a whole.
The handover from Eric Perez
Robin takes over from former chairman and CEO Eric Perez, who has led the club for the past two-and-a-half years.
“I am honoured to take on this role at such an exciting time for Truro City,” Robin said. “Momentum is building around the club and that’s thanks to the excellent foundations laid by Eric Perez over the last two-and-a-half years.”
“With the players, the staff, the partners and most importantly the fans, we are going to make this club a force to be reckoned with going forward.”
Eric, departing the role, said: “It has been the greatest privilege of my career to lead this incredible football club. Truro City is a very special place with passionate supporters, along with a community that truly cares, so I hand the baton to Robin with immense confidence.”
“He has the experience, the drive, and the vision to take this club to extraordinary new heights. I will be cheering Truro City every step of the way.”
