The Cornish Pirates have welcomed a new addition to their squad as backrower Tomiwa Agbongbon joins on loan from Ealing Trailfinders.

Tomiwa’s Journey to the Pirates

Tomiwa, 22, originally from New Jersey but raised in Essex, has joined the Pirates as they move into October. He previously played for Loughborough University’s BUCS Super Rugby side before signing with Ealing Trailfinders this year. His rugby journey also includes stints with Leicester Tigers, where he made five appearances, and Houston SaberCats in Major League Rugby in America.

Strengthening the Squad

Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver expressed his enthusiasm for the loan, highlighting the strong relationship between the Pirates and Ealing Trailfinders. He mentioned that Tomiwa’s physicality and ability as a ball carrier will be a valuable asset for the team. The opportunity will also allow Tomiwa to continue developing his skills during his time in Cornwall.
