Police Appeal After Assault at St Austell ASDA
Police are appealing for witnesses after a staff member was assaulted outside the ASDA store on Cromwell Road in St Austell.
What Happened
At around 9.10pm on Friday 22nd August, a member of staff pursued a suspected shoplifter across the car park. During the chase, the suspect pushed the staff member to the floor, causing minor injuries.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 35 and 40, around 5ft 6ins tall and of average build. He has a black bushy beard and moustache. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball cap with writing on the front and a black hoodie with white writing on the chest saying ‘shred and evade’.
Witness Appeal
Police believe there may have been shoppers present who witnessed the incident.
They said:
“We are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault St Austell.”
