Appeal After Serious Car and Pedestrian Collision in St Austell

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in St Austell.

What Happened

Officers were called at around 7.30am on Friday 2nd January to reports of a collision on Trevanion Road, at the junction with Sawles Road. The incident involved a pedestrian and a red Peugeot 207.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s from the St Austell area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. His next of kin are with him.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting the police investigation.

Appeal for Information

The roads policing team has thanked the public for their patience while enquiries were carried out at the scene.

Anyone with relevant information, including dash cam footage that may assist the investigation, is asked to contact police via their website or by calling 101, quoting log 81 of 2nd January 2026.
