Birdwatching at Mevagissey Harbour with Three Bays Wildlife Group
Birdwatchers gathered at Mevagissey Harbour for a special outing organised by Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, a volunteer for Three Bays Wildlife Group, Publicity Officer for Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society, and RSPB Kernow Local Group Leader.
The fieldtrip, led by Rob Nicholls, recorded an impressive list of species and even a few unexpected surprises.
Birds in Sight
During the event, birdwatchers noted 20 different species of birds, including:

9x Carrion Crow

5x Jackdaw

2x Raven
-
2x Rooks
-
4x Wood Pigeon
-
13x Feral Pigeons

23x Gannets
-
3x Black Headed Gull
-
7x Great Black-backed Gull
-
30++ Herring Gull
-
2x Kestrel
-
1x Buzzard

Butterflies Along the Way
The group also spotted five species of butterflies:

3x Red Admiral

5x Large White
-
7x Small White
-
3x Green-veined White

Ending on a Sweet Note
After the birdwatching, Rowena shared tea, coffee and cookies with the group, rounding off the morning in good company.
