Why Was St Ives RNLI Launched Twice in One Day?
St Ives RNLI volunteers were called out for the second time on Wednesday 19th November after being tasked by HM Coastguard at 9.36pm to assist the Police and the HM Coastguard Cliff Rescue team.
Second Call Out of the Day
The station’s all weather lifeboat, Nora Stachura, launched shortly afterwards with the volunteer crew onboard. This late night shout followed an earlier call at 3.22am, when the crew launched in rough seas and poor visibility. You can read about that first call out in full on CornishStuff here:

Stood Down and Back on Standby
After arriving on scene, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station. The crew washed down and recovered the lifeboat, and by around 11.30pm it was ready for service again. Volunteers then debriefed after a busy day for the station.
