Nine St Austell town centre parking spaces head to auction

Anyone who has circled St Austell town centre looking for somewhere to park will know what a space can be worth. Now nine of them are up for grabs in one go.

A row of nine car parking spaces on Grants Walk has a freehold guide price of £30,000 plus. They sit on a parcel of land measuring 0.015 hectares (0.036 acres).

Why spaces draw bidders

Auction appraiser James Lofthouse said: “Spaces have historically been rented on licences at £400 per annum.

“Such lots, along with lock-up garages, often attract keen bidding at auction whether for personal use or for investment.”

The spaces are being auctioned jointly with Alder King Property Consultants as Lot 29 in the November online auction run by Clive Emson Auctioneers. The sale concludes on Thursday 5 November, with 169 lots listed across England.

A second St Austell town centre lot is in the same sale. Fountain House, at 1 Eastbourne Road, has a freehold guide of £60,000 plus.

It is a two-storey commercial property with three rooms, a kitchen, two WCs and a rear garden.
